DAY CAMP

Day Camp is exactly what it sounds like… camp experience held during the day! As opposed to resident camp where girls stay overnight, day camps are held during the day, usually for 3-5 consecutive days. In the same category with day camp is twilight camp. And you guessed it…twilight camp is held in the early evening. Girls from different groups sign up as individuals and go through the camping experience in temporary groups (units). The girls and unit staff plan and carry out activities.

Every year, Girl Scouts of Erie Shores volunteers facilitate day camps for over 800 girls. Day camps are open to any girl, regardless of her location. Girl Scouts of Erie Shores day camps are held in a variety of locations, from MetroParks to our three camps to swim clubs. In 2004, girls participated in day camps like “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” and “Let’s Go to Egypt”. Fun was had by all!
